Teenager charged after boy, 16, is stabbed to death during a street fight in Queensland
- Emergency services found 16-year-old boy on street with life-threatening injury
- He died at the scene on Iluka Street, Buddina, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast
- Another teenager, 17, was immediately taken into custody by police
- It’s believed a dispute about an ex-girlfriend may have sparked an altercation
- The two boys were known to each other, Queensland Police said in a statement
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after another teenager died during a street fight on Queensland‘s Sunshine Coast last night.
Emergency services were called to a house in Iluka Avenue, Buddina at around 11.20pm on Thursday night to find a 16-year-old boy with a life-threatening-wound.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the boy died at the scene.
A 17-year-old boy was immediately taken into custody by police for questioning.
It’s believed the father of the victim witnessed the attack.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the fight, or anyone with CCTV footage of the area, to get in contact.
A close friend of the 16-year-old, Ashah Brown, told reporters at the scene of the incident on Friday morning that a dispute about an ex-girlfriend may have been the cause of the fight.
‘I’ve known him for years, he’s such a nice kid. He was so nice and everyone loved him and no one had no reason not to like him, Ms Brown told media.
‘He was just that good of a person.’
The 17-year-old boy was charged this morning and will appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court.
A Queensland Police press conference on Friday morning is expected to provide more detail on the tragic circumstances.
